Pig- A pig has pink skin, ears, and a big nose. Their eyes consist of one black and one white pixel which creates a wall-eyed effect. They have a short, stubbed tail and their snouts protrude from their face. Each pig will drop 1 - 3 raw porkchops upon death (on pocket edition it is possible for it to drop 0). Pigs that die while on fire will drop 1 - 3 cooked porkchops instead. Pigs can also be used as a method of controlled transportation by placing a saddle on a pig and using a carrot on a stick or carrot to control the pig while on it.
Chicken- Chickens have white feathers and wings, yellow beaks, yellow feet and red wattles. Their texture is somewhat checkered, in a similar fashion to wool. They are small enough to fit entirely within a block.
- Chickens appear to wander around aimlessly, without attempting to stay out of water or avoid falls.
- They are immune to fall damage. When falling they will flap their wings quickly and fall slowly.
- While in a loaded chunk, a chicken lays one egg approximately every 7.5 minutes
Cow- Cows are common to all biomes in the Overworld (except for the desert and ocean biomes) and will spawn in herds that contain 4 - 10 individuals. Cows roam the Overworld, usually in herds of 4 to 10 (however, it is not uncommon to find a lone cow that has wandered from its herd). They tend to walk around slowly and aimlessly, mooing occasionally. They also tend to jump off high cliffs and make no attempt to stay out of water. They also can climb ladders in certain conditions.
Sheep- 82% of sheep upon natural generation have white wool. Others can naturally spawn in black, gray, light gray, brown or pink wool. They have light tan skin, are wall-eyed and have a pink square on their face, some see this as an open mouth while others call it a nose. Wool is easiest to obtain from sheep, as it can be tedious to craft wool using four string which is obtained by killing a spider or breaking cobwebs with shears or a sword. Wool can be obtained from sheep by using Shears on the sheep or killing the sheep. Shearing a sheep will produce 1-3 wool
Horse- Horses and Donkeys spawn naturally in plains and savannas, while Mules must be created by breeding a Horse with a Donkey. Mules themselves are not capable of breeding. The variants can appear in one of several different breeds that exhibit different visual styles.Once tamed, all horse variants can be saddled. Unlike tamed ocelots or wolves, tamed horses will not automatically follow the player, and can wander away unless kept on alead or ridden. Ordinary Horses can additionally be armored. Tamed Donkeys and Mules cannot be armored, but can be fitted with chests for added mobile item storage. Once any tamed horse is saddled, it can be mounted and controlled with standard player movement controls.
Creeper- The safest way to engage a creeper is from a distance by shooting two fully charged arrows at it with a bow so it cannot explode near the player. Trying to kill it with a sword is risky, but it is possible in Easy or Normal modes, or with a knockback enchantment. In Hard mode, many of the following methods are foiled, as the creeper will continue its countdown at a much greater distance. Creepers will chase after any player they see within a 16 block radius. Creepers will climb steps, navigate mazes, and traverse other complex obstacles in order to get as close as possible to the player. They will cease pursuit if the player moves more than 16 blocks away. When within one block of a player, a Creeper will hiss loudly, start flashing and inflating, and violently explode after 1.5 seconds.
Zombie- Zombies are the most common hostile mobs (and also most common of all the mobs) that spawn in dark or dimly lit areas, and will attack the player by slowly moving toward them and inflicting damage by making contact. Like Skeletons, Zombies catch fire in sunlight. Zombies can be heard making moaning and growling noises when near.
Skeleton- When skeletons are nearby, their presence is indicated by the intermittent soft rattling sound of their bones. Skeletons will chase any player they see within a 16 block radius. They will climb stairs, navigate mazes, and traverse other complex obstacles in order to get close to the player. When they are within 15 blocks of the player, with a clear line of sight, they will stop chasing and start shooting the player with arrows. If the player moves more than 16 blocks away from the skeleton, it will cease pursuit. Skeletons can attempt to avoid damage from the player by continuously circling around them while shooting at them.
Spider- Spiders are hostile as long as the light level immediately around them is 9 or less. If they are found in an area with a higher light level, they won't attack unless a player attacks first. Hostile spiders will continue to chase the player even if they are exposed to daytime or other well-lit locations. Conversely, a spider won't become hostile around a player when roaming in daylight, but if it wanders into a moderately shaded area (e.g. under a tree or rocky overhang) it will turn hostile and remain that way. If a spider sustains damage from a source other than the player, such as falling, its hostility will be reset, so that if it is in a well-lit area, it will not be hostile towards the player.
Enderman- Endermen always initially spawn in pairs, but will often appear individually or in larger groups due to random teleportation. Endermen will mostly teleport away when they take damage. They take damage from contact with water or rain, upon which they will immediately teleport in search of dry areas. In rain they can be seen teleporting rapidly as they search for shelter, but can often die from rain damage. Taking damage from an attacking player will cause them to teleport behind the player and attempt an attack, unless the player is looking at the Enderman's legs, which will usually prevent teleportation. Endermen are considered one of the most dangerous mobs in the game to fight. While initially neutral, they are easily provoked. They have more health (40 hit points) than any mob.
Blaze- Although Blazes are able to fly, they will stay on the ground or sink down slowly in the air when not attacking. Blazes will attempt to swim upwards in lava much like regular mobs behave in water. When they see a player, they will start flying and shooting. They will catch fire briefly before shooting a three round burst of Fire Charges. A short cool down period occurs between attacks. Snowballs are deadly to Blazes, doing 3 points of damage a piece, and snowballs can be thrown a lot more quickly than a bow can be charged up. Plus, snow is easy to find in any snowy biome and is even renewable, therefore you can collect an ample supply of them.
